Dr. Steven Doermer
DPT, Owner
Dr. Steven Doermer is the owner of Grand Island BodyWorks Physical Therapy and Niagara Physical Therapy in Lewiston. Steve graduated in 2013 from Daemen College with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He was hired at Niagara Physical Therapy where he started his career as a therapist before eventually becoming the owner of the clinic.
Born and raised on Grand Island, Steve has always had a passion for sports and athletics. It is through these experiences that he learned about the important services that Physical Therapists provide, sparking his interest in pursuing PT as a career.
In the clinic, he enjoys supporting the therapy team to create the best environment for patients to achieve their rehab goals and return to the lives they want to live.
Steve currently resides on Grand Island with his wife and their two kids. He enjoys golfing, traveling, supporting our local Buffalo sports teams, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Chanelle Garcia
DPT
Dr. Chanelle Garcia is the Clinic Director at Grand Island BodyWorks Physical Therapy. She earned both her Bachelor's in Exercise and Sport Science and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from D'Youville University.
She loves treating post-operative patients-especially knee and hip replacements-and combines manual therapy with personalized exercise programs. She tailors each plan to fit her patients' unique needs and goals, helping them piece together strength, mobility, and confidence as they return to daily life with less pain and more independence.
Originally from Germany and raised in a military family, Dr. Garcia moved to Buffalo in 2015. She now lives in North Buffalo with her fiancé and their mini goldendoodle, Leopold. Outside the clinic, she enjoys hot yoga, spin classes, and spending time with her pup.

Lynn Nelson
PTA
Lynn Nelson is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant who graduated from Niagara County Community College with a PTA degree. She began her career at Mercy Hospital, gaining experience with inpatient care before moving to their outpatient center, Partners in Rehab. After ten years in the field, she took time off to raise her family before returning to practice physical therapy again in 2018 at Island Bodyworks PT. Lynn enjoys working in the orthopedic setting, where she is dedicated to helping people improve their quality of life through individualized, compassionate care. Outside of work, she loves traveling, camping, hiking, and walking.

Deion Brown
PTA
Deion Brown is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant at Grand Island BodyWorks Physical Therapy. He earned his Associate's degree from Niagara County Community College in 2021 and has been practicing in the orthopedic setting since graduation.
Deion enjoys working with post-operative patients, especially those recovering from ACL surgery. He is passionate about helping patients regain strength, stability, and confidence as they return to the activities they love.
Born and raised in Buffalo, Deion lives with his girlfriend and their two sons. Outside the clinic, he enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and spending quality time with his family.
